Sick Mommy

Let me just say... being a sick stay at home mommy is no fun at all!
This is day 4 :(

I LOVE being a stay at home mom but it is exhausting so paired with a stomach virus we have ourselves a yucky situation :(  I always wondered what stay at home mom's do when they get sick and I now know.... Suck it up and get on with the day.

Thankfully it is helpful to have this cutie starring up at me...

who unfortunately LOVES to climb everywhere making me with my upset tummy have to heave myself off the floor to grab him before he gets too far.  He is just SOO determined.  I mean he literally tears down every barricade and obstacle we have set up in his path.  He is a regular Cam Newton.

Anyway I guess I should remember "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
Let me tell you I am getting some mighty fine muscles.
At least today is Friday so it is almost the weekend and I will have Philips wonderful help!

On the topic of Philip I would just like to say that I think know he is the most incredible man in the world!  I mean yesterday he had an exhausting day dealing with teenagers all day long (just thinking about it makes me cringe sometimes) I mean while I loved high school at the time but now I would never never want to do it again.  He goes to high school every day... no wonder teachers need a nice long summer break!  Anyway... he rushed home to help me.  He then ran errands and helped me with Joe all evening while I tried to sit still.  I am pretty sure he didn't stop moving until 10pm.

I hope you are all having a wonderful friday!  Say a prayer for my sweet husband because he is a wonderful man :)

Aren't babies just the best!

2012 is going to be filled with newborn babies and we are so excited!!

(no... I am not pregnant... however the baby bug is starting to creep up on me)

Joseph has two cousins due this summer :)  

Philip's sister, Whitney is due with her first baby, William on May 31st :)

My sister, Lauren is due with her third (they find out the sex tuesday) on June 17th :)

We also have some dear friends who are due with twins in July!

Joseph is getting 4 new friends this summer!! What a treat!

Meanwhile, he is becoming more of a little busy boy by the day...

I can't wait to meet all these babies coming this summer!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

I cannot believe that Joseph is going to be ONE in one month!! 

Oh my goodness where did the time go?

He brings a smile to my face even when I am frustrated :) 

But he keeps me busy busy busy... he is a non-stop baby!

He loves playing with the tupperware and utensils in the kitchen cabinets.. 

He particularly loves the juicer.

He loves cords :(  He knows where they are.. behind the couch etc and pushes things out of his way to get to them... this requires constant attention... keeping me very very busy... 

I am looking forward for this fascination to end ;) 

He is a very determined and smart stinker.  

He loves talking... ma ma ma, da da da, ba ba ba, mmmba, ga ga ga etc.

My attempt at keeping him in the same place for a bit... only lasted about 2 min...haha

He is into everything and loves to pull things out of the cabinets :)

We love to throw the ball to each other

He LOVES climbing over toys onto the ledge and then up to the built-in

He also loves reading books with mom and dad which I LOVE! 

He used to just eat the books... now he actually lets me read them :) 

He is close to walking... still having a hard time staying balanced.  

He can walk across the couch and with a walker (or anything that moves like a kitchen chair or his high chair) but not from one thing to the next... 

I am a little nervous for this walking stage ;)  But so excited!!

2011... what a year!!

2011

What a wild and wonderful year! 

It all started out in Steubenville OH with lots of snow!!

I was pregnant...

We went "duck hunting" 

and Auburn won the National Championship!!

We moved to a new apartment in the snow at 38 weeks pregnant.

We had a very interesting valentines day filled with Bronchitis, Rice a roni, fevers, and.... contractions!!!

Joseph Louis Martin was born Feb 15!!

Truly a miracle! 

We love him so so much!!

There was TONS more snow so we stayed inside a lot!

But we did not mind :)

Joseph's first trip to Alabama at one month old.

He was baptized on St. Joseph's feast day :)

We enjoyed being three in Ohio and having lots of quality fun time together.

Celebrated our one year anniversary going to dinner at the Grand Hotel and enjoying wedding cake (it was still tasty).

Philip got a job in Mobile and we celebrated by going to Niagara Falls! 

We bought a house!!!!!!

Joseph kept growing...

Had lots of fun family outings!

Went to an Auburn game!!!

Traded in our car which was so good to us in the Ohio snow....

for two new cars :) 

It is so wonderful to have two cars!

Had our first fun Christmas morning in our wonderful new house!

I just can't believe how much Joseph has grown in the past year and that he will be one so soon! 2011 brought us so many changes and was very eventful.  I have a hard time believing that 2012 will be as crazy but I am sure it will be... and I CANT WAIT!!
